 Soprano Yae-Eun Christina SEO

Coloratura soprano opera singer Yae-Eun has been a musician since her adolescence. She studied vocal music and choral direction at the National University of Arts in South Korea with Martin Behrmann, obtaining her bachelor's degree. She also earned an Artist Diploma in Opera Vocal Music under the instruction of Hans CHOI, Haeran HONG, and Carlo PALLESCHI. Subsequently, she pursued her D.E.M and specialized training at the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory in France, studying with Mary SAINT-PALAIS and Alissa ZOUBRITSKI.

Yae-Eun has sung various opera roles, including the Queen of the Night and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Norina (Don Pasquale), Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera), Gilda (Rigoletto), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Micaëla (Carmen), as well as other works from the Korean opera repertoire, and has performed in several concerts. For example, she was a soloist in the < Passion Verdi > concert at the Opéra National de Bordeaux's L'Esprit du Piano Festival, and also performed during the celebration of Brazil's 200th independence anniversary and the 125th anniversary of the Opéra de Manaus in Brazil. She has also participated in oratorios such as Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Haydn's The Creation, Handel's Messiah, among others.
For next year, she has performances scheduled at the Opera National de Bordeaux, where she will be singing the roles of Lakmé in "Lakmé" and Mimi in "La Bohème". Additionally, she is set to perform the role of Adina in "L'elisir d'amore" at the Opera de Baugé.

Yae-Eun has received awards including the 1st prize at the Bordeaux International Singing Competitions, the Robert Massard prize (Friends of the Grand-Théâtre / Opéra de Bordeaux), the International Lyric Singing Competition of Vivonne, the 2nd prize at the 32nd National Lyric Singing Competition of Beziers, the National Opera Prize Bánská Bystrica at the International Opera Competitions of Gabriela Beňačková, the Concorso Internazionale Lirico Piero Boni (Premio Boni) in Italy, Les Clés d'Or (Degré Excellence) and IMKA Music Competition, as well as an "Honorable Mention" at the Concours d'Honneur des Maîtres du Chant Français.

Her talents extend not only to singing but also encompass composition and choral direction. She earned the 2nd prize at the University of Daegu's competition and the 2nd prize in the composition category at the CBS competition in Korea.

She discovered her talent for lyrical singing after obtaining her degree in choral direction in her mid-twenties, prompting a redirection of her focus and a complete dedication to her newfound passion. With years of professional practice as a lyrical soloist, Yae-Eun stands as a refined artist, harmonizing the maturity of experience with a voice of nuanced and delicate timbre, exquisitely complemented by her profound musical sensitivity and enduring freshness. Her devotion to music and her passion for sharing beautiful artistic emotions with the audience are profound.
